Meet Jana and Mikey from «One love our love»

I am sure many of you already know them, but for those who don’t, I have the pleasure to introduce you, Jana and Mike from «One love our love»

Doing this interview was a great pleasure for me, they have inspired me not only in travel but in the way they see life.

During this interview, I read each one of their posts and stories, from how they met, in where they got engaged, and also the place where they got married!

This sweet couple has an awesome love for life, do not miss the chance to get to know them more and of course to check out their blog.

What do you appreciate the most when traveling?

Traveling is our fuel for happiness, our passion, and love. There are so many things that we appreciate about it, it is by far the best learning life experience. Traveling makes us step out of our comfort zone, opens our eyes and minds in a new way and helps us constantly reinvent ourselves. We appreciate that it challenge and push us to be the best version of ourselves and to cherish life. We meet many like-minded people that share the same passion and ultimately is our main ingredient for happiness.

Mention 3 memorable moments of your life.

Jana:

1. I hope it’s ok to say this and it’s not PG13 but definitely our first kiss. Every time I think about it I get goosebumps and I can still feel the butterflies in my stomach.

2. Our wedding day. One of the best days of our lives so far.

3. Flying in a seaplane over the Islands of Fiji. Absolutely once in a lifetime experience.

Mikey:

1. I can’t argue with that of our first kiss that Jana described above. It was amazing.

2. Snowboarding by helicopter in bottomless amounts of snow with great people in unpopulated parts of the world.

3. Our wedding week was so surreal to me and there is no way to describe how beautiful it was.

I know you been together for 12 years now, how do you guys see your life in 5 more years?

Hopefully staying free, positive, happy and in love as we are now plus having few extra additions in our life. Still traveling the world and having a successful business to allow us to live the lifestyle we love.

Jana, I read on your blog that you have archived 2.5 out of 3 dreams, could you share them with us?

I am a big dreamer. Although I always have lots of dreams they are 3 main once that I had since I was little.

  1. To find the love of my life and live happily ever after. I know it might sound cheesy but believe it or not I am a huge romantic in my heart. Love is the most important thing in my life. I truly believe I have made that dream come true.

  2. To travel the world. This one somehow was the easiest one.

  3. To be a successful designer. That’s the tough one and the one that challenges me the most, makes me go through so many ups and downs but I am still working on making it happen.

Mikey, as I know you are a snowboarder instructor,  and also a surf lover, where have been the best places to surf when traveling?

Well, I surfed in over 25 different countries and each place has its pros and cons. I’d have to say for the beauty, it is the Maldives, for the culture, Indonesia, and for the positive vibes maybe in Fiji. For the waves, every place has its epic days. I think the most important thing is your own vibe and who you are sharing the waves with and to always have fun. With those ingredients, any place could be my favorite.

Some people say traveling as a couple is hard because you spend so much time together, what do you think about that?

We’ve heard that I lot. For us traveling together has been the best part of our life journey and we are the happiest. We feel that we are more ourselves, more loving and positive. We love bouncing ideas back and forth between each other, we love sharing experiences both good and bad together. We love that we have mastered the compromising skills in order to both be happy in our differences. We really love spending our time together, we support, encourage and push ourselves to be better every day.

Jana, I know you own a jewelry business, could you tell us more about it? When did you start your business? Where can we find it?

I loved fashion and design as long as I can remember. I studied Fashion Design in high school and Graphic Design in University. Four years ago I started my jewelry brand Fast Love Designs and in April 2016 I quit my full-time job in one of the best restaurants in the world to follow my heart and passion. Now, I am dedicating all my time juggling between traveling the world, running our travel blog www.oneloveourlove.com and my jewelry business which you can find here: www.fastlovedesigns.com

You guys were recently traveling in the Arab Emirates, what did you like the most about it?  Is there any tip you can give us for the ones who never been there before?

We spent our time mostly in Dubai and we really liked the futuristic visuals that the city has. It was different to any other city we’ve ever been to. We’d recommend that if you are traveling with a significant other to read up on what you should and should not do in public to avoid offending anybody. Try to be respectful of their culture and for the ladies to dress appropriately. The majority of the people there are laid back and it felt very safe but as a traveler, it’s always good to make sure you are respectful.

Where are you traveling to next?

We were supposed to go to St Barts and Anguilla in November but unfortunately due to the devastating damages of hurricane Irma we had to postpone the trip. So instead we are headed to Bali in November and maybe one more destination but we are still figuring out last details.

Mention 3 of the most memorable countries/cities and why?

That’s very hard to pick only 3 because we have so many memorable places around the world.

The Maldives – Absolutely the most beautiful beaches on earth.

Iceland – We did a road trip around the whole country and we were utterly overwhelmed and wowed by its never-ending beauty.

Hawaii – We’ve been there many time but Hawaii holds a very special place in our hearts. This was the first destination we traveled as a couple. No matter how many beautiful places we’ve seen around the world we still think that Hawaii is one of the top.

Do you think you will eventually end up traveling full time?

That would definitely be amazing, or at least as often as possible.

What are the travelers that have inspired you the most?

Honestly, we started traveling 10 years ago and then Social Media wasn’t that big at all. Back then we didn’t have anyone in particular that inspired us, we were our own inspiration. We’ve always had the urge to see the world, but maybe Jana sparkled that desire the most. She left home when she was 18 and that change her whole world.

Now, there are so many inspiring travelers that we admire and we love following.

You guys come from 2 different countries right? What are your favorites places from your hometown?

Mikey: I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and my favorite place to visit when I return is Stone Mountain Park.

Jana: I was born and raised in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It is one the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria and may favorite part is the old town.
